Kristina Gibson earned her doctorate in Geography at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her research concerns social services, public space, and the sociospatial behaviors of street and homeless youth. She recently completed a three-year, ethnographic investigation of street outreach organizations in New York City. During that time she acted as a street outreach counselor for several organizations including StandUp for Kids, The Neutral Zone, and The Door. She is currently working on a social history of street youth in the U.S. and is an acting board member of Stage 2 (an outreach non-profit working with minority and LGBTQ street youth).
